Minimal Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom

It is officially that time of year again, Christmas tour time.  I do believe that Christmas time is my favorite time to decorate.  I usually go all out in almost every room of the house and of course the front porch.  Even my husband gets in on the fun with lights on the house and in the yard.  It is truly fun for the entire family.  This year, I have brought out a little bit less than usual.  However, I am still getting the whole house into the spirit and made sure that all the bedrooms got a touch of Christmas.  So my tour is beginning in our master bedroom.

Keeping with my minimalist theme for the whole house, I made sure to just add very simple touches.  The red French grain ribbon is a reoccurring theme, and you will see it in other parts of my Christmas home, in later tours.

I have tied it here in a casual bow, with rustic wooden snowflake ornaments.  I love this simple wreath in my bedroom.

I made this one last year, with a foam wreath form and dusters from the dollar store!  Doesn’t it look like fur or feathers?  Is so soft and pretty and probably cost about $10 or less to make.

The bedding I tried to keep bright and clean with beige and white pillows. I switched out the Euro pillows to these linen Ikea tie covers, to compliment this fawn print pillow from Laurel & Blush Co.  I bought it earlier this year to add to Christmas decor downstairs, but I really prefer it in the bedroom.

I was trying to keep the bedding farmhouse with a bit of glam.  To carry the red into the rest of the room, I added some small touches of it with a throw, and a small pillow in the siting area.

On the dresser, I used my small yarn tree forest to play up the Christmas feel.  These are a copy cat version of some Target Trees. I have the tutorial here.

Also,  adding some color with small ornaments in this milk glass bowl and then some holly stems to my floral vases.

I have always been a fan of adding some Christmas cheer in as many rooms of the house as I can.  The kids usually get a small tree, and even the bathrooms may get some Christmas towels.  But, it does not have to be over the top.  Adding some simple touches can go a long way.  I hope you have enjoyed this bedroom tour, and will stop by for the rest of the house.  What do you think, will you decorate your bedroom?

I love how your grosgrain red and white ribbon reminds me of old fashioned candy canes. This is a beautiful use of red to add “pop” to the rooms. Lovely tour! Hugs, Robin
