Living Room Re-arrangement

About 2 weeks ago we had a yard sale and sold our pub height dining table. I had dreams of having fancy dinners there in the future, you know, when everyone was capable of feeding themselves. However, it didn’t work for our lifestyle right now and really didn’t fit our floor plan. So its gone! I wish I had a better before picture, but I didn’t even think to take one.

I am trying to make a giant living space, with a sitting area. But, I also want it to be kid friendly because when I am cooking and working in the kitchen I need them to be occupied and happy. It is a work in progress, but I really like the new space!

We swapped the sectional for an Ikea couch we already had upstairs. The leather chair is from our bedroom (now I need to find a replacement for that – Home Goods anyone?) Plus, I bought the 2 sitting chairs for SUPER cheap at American Furniture Warehouse. I am waiting to add a coffee table in the front area. I am going spray paint an Ikea table gold. I am also adding a gallery wall and hopefully our family beach photos that we take in a couple months. Because, ya….the walls are BARE!! And in the future, future we will get rid of that carpet and do something else. Le Sigh, always something to be done.

Any suggestions for what should go over the fire place? My husband wants a landscape and I am not feeling it! Let me know what you think!
