It’s officially spring, and here in Phoenix it’s already getting warm and feeling like summer. But, I”m not ready to break out the swims suits yet. I decided to change up the colors in the living room to a more spring feel. And then also decorated the mantle 3 ways for spring. So I am showing you those too.
Yellows, and light blues are my colors for this spring. So bright and new!
I also traded out the grey ottomans again for the small fur stools. The fur doesn’t scream SPRING but I missed the openness of the space when they were here. So they are back. Also brought out these lanterns, for the time being.
On to the kitchen
Tulips however DO scream spring. So they have been a little bit of a decorating splurge for us lately. I don’t usually get fresh flowers but they really do brighten up a room. The girls are loving the addition!
Before we head upstairs, I want to show I style my mantle 3 ways, using mostly the same items to cover 2 holidays and generic spring. I shopped my home for most of the items. Old empty frames and books. Stuff you probably already have can make decor.
Here is look 1: For St. Patrick’s Day
I picked the flowers from my yard and decorated the chalkboard with an Irish saying.
When St. Paddy’s had come and gone I just removed the chalkbaord, and still had a pretty spring display.
Now for Easter, I simply changed out the flowers and added different chalkboard art.
Simple!
Ok, now upstairs! Not too many changes to my bedroom, but I did swap out some navy pillows for fresh, crisp white. Brightens everything up.
Here is a little sneak peek of S’s new room! Still a work in progress. Her big girl room is all about pretty florals.
Her new bedding is pink gingham mixed with a vintage botanical print comforter. She was picturing VERY shabby chic, so I compromised.
We were not going to repaint the room so I had to pick colors that still complemented the green and brown, on the walls. While I didn’t add any brown, the wood bed and dresser help.
I love how it is shaping up and can’t wait to show everything once we finish.
I have been wanting to add something from dear lillie, ever since I discovered her work on Instagram. When I saw this print I knew it would be perfect!! That blue pitcher moves all over my house, but I think it has found its permanent home. It was my grandmothers.
Thank you for stopping by! Come back soon to see the finished room.
